About Us
Magician foundation india (MFI) began with a simple aspiration: to bring access to play to children from low-income families living in the slums of mumbai. In the year 2004, a few likeminded young volunteers started teaching rugby to other children from their communities. Spending their days confined to the narrow lanes of the community, the children were unable to dream of a better tomorrow. MFI started working with them by giving lessons in the sport of Rugby, and opportunities to learn life skills and encouraging education.
In 2017, Magician Foundation India was registered under theChatitable Trust Act Registration no. E-32923 (MUM), with an aim to turn slum communities into a field of play and a space for social change. MFI strives to bring hope, opportunity and optimism to the lives of our children.
Magician Foundation India aims to develop life skills and improve motivation among children from low-income communities so theat they complete their education. To bring them out of the cycle of intergenerational poverty and make them self-sustainable. To Develop their skills of playing Rugby and provide a platform to children to play at local, national and International Rugby tournaments. Magician Foundation intends to build their life skills, employability and resilience.
All children in low-income communities have better learning outcomes and become self-sustainable through access to educational, sport and income earning opportunities.
Guided by integrity, driven by passion, united in solidarity, rooted in discipline, and built on respect.
- We are based in Mumbai, India, where we empower a new generation of young lives. What began as a simple yet profound journey over a decade ago has become a beacon of hope for several hundred children from underserved communities. Today, these former “street children” have come full circle, establishing The Magicians Foundation to empower a new generation of young lives.
- Since its inspection, The Magicians Foundation has impacted the lives of over, 10,000 children. We have been able to highlight the transformative power of sport, enabling individuals to discover and nurture the talents they possess. Many of these children have embraced rugby professionally, representing their cities, states and even their country on international platforms. This remarkable journey from local ground to global stands as a testament to the Foundation’s dedication to unlocking potential and fostering resilience. Despite the professional achievements the Foundation has allowed the youths a deep sense of responsibility and community. Through its work, The Magicians Foundation has demonstrated how sport can be a powerful catalyst for personal and social change, building resilience, fostering independence and creating opportunities for children to rise above their circumstances.

Awesome Feedback
We were looking to support organizations that go beyond just teaching rugby—and Magical does exactly that. Through their Rugby‑For‑Values and Champion projects, they instill life lessons like discipline, respect, and teamwork. Seeing 900+ adolescents train regularly and travel for national-level tournaments is proof that our support isn’t just funding wins—it’s changing lives.

When we contributed to Magical’s Rugby‑For‑Values programme in Mumbai slums, we didn’t expect such profound ripple effects. These kids improve in school, learn self-confidence, and many go on to mentor others. It’s a powerful multiplier effect—our donation becomes community upliftment.
Rajiv Mehta
I was deeply moved to read about children training in five under-resourced communities and competing at the national and Olympic levels. Magical’s transparent allocation—covering coaching, nutrition, uniforms, and travel—gave me confidence. Our month-by-month updates show exactly how our support translates into real opportunities.
Lena Kapoor
Magical trained hundreds of adolescents, who’ve learned not just rugby, but teamwork, resilience, and leadership. Many now act as community mentors themselves. That ripple effect—from beneficiary to leader—is why I continue to support them.
